Kristin Stockton

AQUATIC BIOLOGIST

Ms. Stockton serves as an aquatic biologist and has 5 years of experience working with freshwater mussels. She has a background in Section 7 (Endangered Species Act) consultation and conducting surveys, long-term monitoring, and reintroductions of unionid mussels. Her experience includes providing avoidance, minimization, and mitigation recommendations for a diverse range of projects to state, federal, and private entities, especially regarding federally listed species. While her primary focus is freshwater mussels, she also has experience with benthic macroinvertebrates, fish, and other aquatic organisms. She is completing her master’s thesis on “Wastewater Treatment Outfall as a Limiting Factor to Freshwater Mussel Reintroduction and Recolonization.”

In her free time, she enjoys exploring, cooking, collecting cool rocks and other shiny objects, entertaining her menagerie, and forcing people to listen to her talk about mussels.
