EPA Awards EcoAnalysts Large Contract!
EcoAnalysts was selected in September by the Environmental Protection Agency to provide taxonomy services for benthic macroinvertebrates (aquatic insects) for a national project because of their experience and expertise.

The EPA, in conjunction with all 50 states, embarked on a nationwide survey of over 1,000 lakes in the summer of 2007 in an effort to assess lake conditions at regional and national levels. This project, the Survey of the Nation’s Lakes, is of great importance because lakes and reservoirs currently provide about 70% of the country’s drinking water.  The presence, health and variety of insects and other aquatic life are considered critical indications of overall water quality.

After a competitive bid process, EcoAnalysts was selected to provide benthic invertebrate taxonomy support services
