Freshwater Invertebrate Taxonomy (FIT) List Serve

The FIT list is provided by EcoAnalysts, Inc. as a free service to the community of aquatic invertebrate taxonomists. We are dedicated to the advancement of taxonomic data quality through information exchange among taxonomists. You must be a member of the FIT List in order to post to the list. Emails from non-members will be automatically rejected.

The primary focus of this list is assist taxonomists with issues arising from the identification of freshwater invertebrates. EcoAnalysts is in frequent contact with national and international invertebrate experts who provide us with taxonomic information that has not been published in keys. This list provides a convenient means for members to share such information with others working in the field of invertebrate taxonomy.

The list also serves as a forum for posting questions and answers regarding problems with identifications. Suggestions for other uses for the list are encouraged. Additional uses can be incorporated if desired by a majority of the list members. The list will be moderated to ensure that spam is kept out of out of our mailboxes. Attachments of up to 200 kb in size are allowed. If you would like to post images (or other large files) to the list, my suggestion is that you put the image up on a web page and provide the address to the page in a post to the list. If such an option is not available, let John know.
