Julia started as an intern at the Port Gamble Environmental Laboratory in 2009 while earning her B.S. in Environmental Science/Toxicology at Western Washington University. Since then, she has helped perform toxicity tests on wastewaters and sediments using a wide variety of species, and has routinely maintained care of in-house cultures in support of laboratory operations. In addition to performing statistical analyses on data, preparing, and delivering reports to clients, Julia has also assisted on field projects involving the collection of sediments using a ponar grab-sampler. She now manages the Ecotoxicology Lab, coordinating and scheduling incoming testing, overseeing the daily lab activities, and ensuring that data quality objectives are met. In her free time, she enjoys practicing hot yoga, baking, and hiking with her husband, Troy, and their dog, Jeanie.
