Chip assists in the EPA National Coastal Assessment project. He moved to Moscow from Honolulu, HI where he was a Lecturer in the Biology Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) since August 2009. He earned his Doctorate in Zoology at the National University of Ireland Galway in 2010, which involved a survey of the deep-sea polychaetous annelids to the west of Ireland with a focus on the phylogeny and taxonomy of the Family Amphinomidae. His Master of Science degree from the University Hawaii at Manoa dealt with the examination of a putative molecular marker that was to be applied to the conservation and management of keystone species in the Hawaiian anchialine habitat; in addition, he also received a Bachelor of Arts degree (Zoology) and Marine Certificate in Biological/Behavioral Science (Marine Options Program) from UHM.
