Bo joined EcoAnalysts in September 2017 as an algae taxonomist. He received his doctoral degree (marine biology) from Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He worked at Michigan State University for more than 5 years, and participated the 2013-2014 National Rivers and Streams Assessment project of USEPA as an algae taxonomist. His research focused on using diatoms and soft algae to assess freshwater lake condition. Bo has authored several peer-reviewed papers in field of environmental sciences. When he is not working behind a microscope, Bo prefers to spend his time enjoying the beauty of nature through outdoor activities such as hiking and bicycling. He also enjoys studying computer science.
