About EcoAnalysts, Inc.

EcoAnalysts, Inc. began in 1992 when a group of three young aquatic biologists recognized a demand for biological monitoring services in the water quality field. We began providing consulting services on a part-time basis as we finished our graduate degrees at the University of Idaho. As word about us rapidly spread, so did the demand for our services. After finishing graduate school three years later, we officially incorporated as a privately-owned Idaho business. Now, after 13 years of operation, we have become a nationally recognized leader in the field of biological monitoring and consulting services. Our experienced field technicians, taxonomists, and senior consulting scientists comprise an expert team able to provide our clients with superior biological monitoring services at very reasonable costs.

We now employ over 50 people and have offices in California, Idaho, Missouri, Montana, and Pennsylvania. Our company core services are: 1) Biomonitoring and bioassessment services; 2) identification of aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates, periphyton, phyto- and zooplankton, larval fish, and fish stomach samples; 3) aquatic ecology research, monitoring and consulting; 4) endangered and invasive invertebrate species surveys.

To date we have completed over 1000 projects, and identified over 33,000 macroinvertebrate, plankton, and periphyton samples from around the United States. We have a growing amount of international experience, including projects in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Peru, and Surinam. With humble beginnings, EcoAnalysts has become one of the largest taxonomic laboratories in the country, with capacity to process 4,000+ taxonomic samples annually. This represents an average of over 330 samples processed each month.

Consulting services include, but are not limited to: study design, field sampling, data analysis and interpretation, reporting, educational workshops, publishing educational and technical materials, and technical presentations. Our ecologists produce statistically and ecologically defensible study designs, which are particularly important in determining site-specific biological impacts. Our rigorous quality control procedures, and the accompanying documentation we can provide, give our clients confidence in knowing their dataset is of the highest quality and can withstand peer or legal scrutiny.

Our clients include federal, state, county, city and tribal agencies, conservation districts, watershed councils, volunteer monitoring groups, environmental consulting firms, environmental law firms and members of the regulated industry community. Experience with such a diversity of client sectors has given us a strong understanding of the diverse perspectives pertaining to the stewardship and protection of our natural resources.

You can count on EcoAnalysts to provide you with
superior service and support for your projects.
