About RSS Feeds
Subscribing to the EcoAnalysts RSS News feed
You can subscribe to our RSS feed in several ways. You can click on the orange RSS logo (at left) and copy the corresponding URL (Web Address) and paste it into your browser's bookmark menu. Copy the URL even if the page appears jumbled. Your browser may need an RSS plug-in in order for this feature to work properly. The RSS reader should display a list of news items which you can click on to link to a specific page. You can also click on the RSS web links from our news box on the EcoAnalysts home page.
What are News Feeds?
News feeds allow you to see when web sites have added new content. The logo at left has become an internationally recognized icon for RSS feeds. RSS feeds allow you to view new content from a web site as soon as it is published without actually visiting the site. The general understanding is that RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." An RSS feed is simply an automatic link to a page within a web site that is programmed to be read by your web browser or your designated news reader.
Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your e-mail using Outlook, or keep it on a web-based service like Hotmail.
If you see an unformatted page of text or xml code after clicking on any RSS link on our web site you will need to either upgrade your browser or download an RSS News Reader.
How Do I Get A News Reader?
The current format of the RSS protocol requires that you have the most current version of your web browser. Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple's Safari version 2.0.4 support RSS feeds in their own unique way. You may need to make some adjustments in your browser's RSS preference settings in order for the feature to work properly.
